Overview

The City of Fort Myers recognizes the need to replace utilities on Linhart Avenue and the neighborhood side streets from Cortez Boulevard to U.S. 41. The scope of work includes replacement of water mains and sanitary sewer pipe and installation of storm drainage pipe and swales on the following roadways: Linhart Avenue (Cortez Boulevard to U.S. 41), Magnolia Street, Holly Road, McCann Street, Maple Avenue, Sunset Road (Linhart Avenue to Hanson Street), Sanders Street, Nelson Street (Linhart Avenue to Hanson Street), and Hanson Street (Nelson Street to U.S. 41). Linhart Avenue pavement will be widened from approximately 20 feet to 22 feet. McCann Street will be improved with an 18-foot paved road from Linhart Avenue to the existing end of road. The project also includes new sidewalk on side streets and will replace sidewalk disturbed during construction. Finally, new driveway aprons and sod will be installed, and roads will be rebuilt and paved. This project is expected to be completed in early 2022.
